I am so glad that you got a new heart and that you are doing so well. I have a grandson, Robert Jonathan Crawford, who also had a heart
transplant at UAB.He was only 2 1/2 months old and was very sick.
This week he wil be 13 years old and can do anything most other boys
can do. His health is very good. We are so very grateful for the
nurses and doctors at UAB. He still goes back for checkups. He is very
brave. I’ll bet if you ask them, some of the doctors and nurses will tell
you some stories about him.
My daughter is a heart specialist in Montgomery, and she adopted
Jon when he was 2 1/2 years old. Isn’t it neat how God got him a new
mom who could take extra special care of him? I know you and your
parents will do just as well.
If you’d like to, I can see to it that you meet Jon and ask him any questions you’d like to have answered. Just have your mom or dad call
me at 284-8210. I am praying that you will get stronger each and
every day. Aren’t you happy that some family cared enough to give
you a new heart?
Jesus loves you, and so do I, although we haven’t met yet. I have a really
nice digital camera, but I don’t know how to use it. I hear you’re better
than your mom with your camera. Maybe you can give me some tips
someday.
Sincerely,
Nita Crawford
